The martyr’s uncle wrote:
“We all long for martyrdom if we could achieve it.” I was told that Islam Mohammad Abu Mustafa used to repeat a day before his martyrdom: “We all long for martyrdom if we could achieve it.” He was the eldest son of my brother, the apple of his father’s eye, and his companion in the journey of life. He had a playful spirit and was fifteen years old, and we never wanted to see tears in his eyes because they never suited him. He was the support for his mother, who still repeats, “He is my support,” even after Islam’s martyrdom. Beloved by everyone, he never missed a prayer or a bow. Despite his young age, he was committed, and everyone who knew him loved and trusted him. He was not only a support for his parents but also a shoulder for his grandparents. He was always ahead in doing good and helping others. He had a great passion for photography, to the extent that we find his pictures on every mobile phone in our home, out of our love for him. Little did we know that these pictures would remain cherished memories after his departure, and we will pray for him whenever we see them. Islam was martyred, but everything related to him remains alive within us. On December 12, 2023, Islam was martyred in an Israeli airstrike. He left behind gaps and immense pain in the hearts of the entire family, young and old. Because he is more than just a number, we wanted to share Islam’s story with the whole world. Rest in peace, my beloved.

كتب عم الشهيد:
كلنا نشتاق للشهادة لو استطعنا أن ننالها.” إسلام محمد أبو مصطفى قيل لي أن إسلام، كان يردد قبل يوم من استشهاده: “كلنا نشتاق إلى الشهادة لو استطعنا أن ننالها”. كان ابن أخي الأكبر، قرة عين أبيه ورفيقه في رحلة الحياة. كان يتمتع بروح الدعابة وكان عمره خمسة عشر عاماً، ولم نكن نحب أن نرى الدموع في عينيه لأنها لم تناسبه أبداً. وكان السند لأمه التي لا تزال تردد “هو سندي” حتى بعد استشهاد الإسلام. محبوب من الجميع، لم يفوت صلاة ولا انحناء. ورغم صغر سنه إلا أنه كان ملتزما، وكل من عرفه أحبه وصادقه. لم يكن سندًا لوالديه فحسب، بل كان أيضًا كتفًا لأجداده. وكان دائماً متقدماً في فعل الخير ومساعدة الآخرين. كان لديه شغف كبير بالتصوير الفوتوغرافي، لدرجة أننا نجد صوره في كل هاتف محمول في منزلنا، من منطلق حبنا له. ولم نكن نعلم أن هذه الصور ستبقى ذكريات عزيزة بعد رحيله، وسندعو له كلما رأيناها. استشهد الإسلام، ولكن كل ما يتعلق به يبقى حيا فينا. في 12 ديسمبر 2023، استشهد إسلام في غارة جوية إسرائيلية. لقد ترك وراءه ثغرات وألمًا هائلاً في قلوب العائلة بأكملها، صغارًا وكبارًا. ولأنه أكثر من مجرد رقم، أردنا أن نشارك قصة الإسلام مع العالم أجمع. ارقد بسلام يا حبيبي.
